More than 170 higher education professionals from across the country came to RIT Nov. 14-16 for the 2024 a2ru National Conference. The a2ru national conference is an opportunity for practitioners and researchers from across higher education to share innovations and perspectives in the arts.

Travel-enhanced game design and development course takes students to Japan
The two-week trip was the culmination of the Japanese Game Industry course, where students learned about the world’s third largest video game market. RIT students immersed themselves in the culture, participated in a game jam with Japanese students, and visited a major Japanese game studio.

A futurist 3D-modeled poster featuring a whimsical, futuristic workshop was selected as the winning entry in this year’s Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival poster contest. Visitors can receive a free copy of the poster during the festival on April 27, while supplies last.

Inside the making of 'That Damn Goat,' RIT's latest video game
Chaos is the only constant in "That Damn Goat," a party, "anti-Covid" video game made by around 60 RIT faculty, students and staff. The project was led by School of Film and Animation faculty Brian Larson (creative director) and Jesse O'Brien (art director).

Flip Phillips, professor of motion picture science, shared a Milestone Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his hand in creating RenderMan, Pixar’s revolutionary software still used today to create the iconic animation look of classic films.
