Pop culture icons. MVP athletes. A-list actors. Music stars. You name the celebrity, there is a good chance RIT Associate Professor Clay Patrick McBride has expertly taken their portrait. 

McBride guides and molds the next generation of image makers in RIT’s renowned School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, and in this video, he shares one of the most valuable lessons of his photographic career. When he had the opportunity to document rock legends and his favorite band, Metallica, at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, he had an introspective moment — one that helped him gain perspective and further shape his approach to photography and teaching.
