In many rural areas of developing countries electricity is often not available. The intent of this project is to develop a USB charger that obtains its energy from running water. This could be a stream, river, or any body of moving water. Our PVC system utilizes magnets to translate torque through a waterproof seal. The blade shape is optimized to operate in different bodies of water while remaining portable. We are using a buck-boost converter to ensure we have a 5-volt output for the USB.
