Description:
The Rochester Cultural Heritage Imaging, Visualization, and Education unites humanities and imaging expertise at RIT and the University of Rochester with the goal of recovering writings of historical importance that have been lost due to age, neglect, or deliberate damage. The team plans give a live demo with a prototype multispectral imaging system. This system was designed and built by a senior in the Imaging Science department at RIT. The demo will give visitors an opportunity to write with invisible ink and see how the imaging and image processing can recover the writing. In addition, results obtained from previous and current projects will be shown on one or more large-screen computer monitors.
