The RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) President, Kamal Shahrabi and RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Faculty, Albina Balidemaj, Robert Muharremi, and Venera Demukaj participated in the Global Governance Summit held at RIT Dubai.
The event gathered representatives from the Academic Senates and the Presidents from the Rochester Campus in New York and the global campuses in China, Croatia, Kosovo, and the United Arab Emirates.
During the summit meetings, the representatives of each campus presented and discussed the governance structures, the role of the Faculty Senate, as well as the environments (such as government policy) of all campus locations. The summit provided a forum for productive discussions on how to improve collaboration through shared governance focusing on communication and connectivity; expectations related to curriculum; degree program guidance; and committee-based work.
The cross-campus discussions highlighted the need for the global campuses to initiate governance issues which affect their locations and enhance their engagement in international activities through research and teaching activities.
