RIT Kosovo Faculty Speak at Rotary Club Prishtina Ulpiana on Global Education Trends and the Future of Work
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) proudly highlights Reid Pierce, RIT Kosovo Faculty, who recently spoke at the Rotary Club Prishtina Ulpiana on Global Education Trends and the Future of Work in Kosovo.
In his talk, Pierce explored how Kosovo’s young, multilingual workforce can align with the rapidly evolving needs of global employers. Drawing on research from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and insights from RIT Kosovo, he emphasized four essential skill areas that employers consistently value:
- Adaptability – Thriving amid rapid change
- Emotional Intelligence – Leading with empathy and resilience
- Interdisciplinary Thinking – Bridging knowledge across disciplines
- Critical Thinking – Solving complex problems through evidence and reasoning
“These skills are not optional ‘extras.’ They are the foundation for cultivating a resilient, creative, and globally competitive workforce,” said Pierce.
“Kosovo’s young people are among the most multilingual and motivated in the region. If we invest now in adaptability, emotional intelligence, interdisciplinary learning, and critical thinking, we can shape a generation that doesn’t just adapt to the future - but leads it,” he added.
Pierce also highlighted RIT Kosovo’s commitment to bridging education and industry through its co-op program and experiential learning initiatives, which equip students with the skills and experience needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving global workforce. He invited thought leaders, industry experts, and NGOs to collaborate with RIT Kosovo in:
- Providing meaningful internships that help students build these competencies
- Contributing to education reform that promotes adaptability, creativity, and resilience
“Kosovo’s youth can become regional leaders in innovation - but only if we work together,” Pierce concluded.
