Interdisciplinary Degree Programs

The Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation (I3) strives to be a hub for innovative thinking, collaboration, and the advancement of interdisciplinary education in the humanities and social sciences. 

Programs and activities presented by the I3 are multidisciplinary, transformative, and future-proof, designed to equip grads for a lifetime of success in an ever-changing world. It is home to three undergraduate programs and RIT Center for Worldbuilding and Storytelling.

Degree Programs

  • Global Futures BS
    (new program, open for enrollment beginning Fall 2026) 
    For those who seek a new vision for our world’s future, RIT’s Global Futures program provides expertise, inspiration, and adaptable skills to explore and shape new possibilities in nearly every industry across the globe.
     
  • Humanities, Computing, and Design BS
    Humanities, computing, and design is a dynamic field of study that creates a bridge between the traditional liberal arts and the digital world, where critical thinking, cultural awareness, and communication integrate with digital technologies. 
     
  • Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies BS
    As either a stand-alone primary major or a double major, this program allows students to combine the study of gender dynamics with RIT’s integrated strengths in STEAM.
