Domenic Fiorello '11 (Furniture Design) has operated his own custom furniture design company since 2014, creating thoughtfully made products for customers. 

The Lewiston Tribute features Ted Kelchner '92 (woodworking and furniture design).

Nine RIT College of Art and Design students showcased wearable sculpture made through the creative use of various materials at Rochester’s annual Maker Faire. 

RIT’s growing role at an annual event celebrating fashion in Rochester has become an ever-flourishing part of the metals and jewelry design program in the School for American Crafts, inspiring current students and alumni to make both stunning creations along with important industry connections.

In support of the college admission process, prospective students from around the country received portfolio reviews from RIT faculty and reps from other leading art and design colleges.

College of Art and Design faculty and staff led a workshop educating Rochester City School District art teachers on portfolio requirements and the art of photographing portfolio pieces. 

A new Netflix glassblowing reality series features an RIT alumna as an expert glassmaker. Blown Away, which begins airing July 12 on the streaming platform, follows a group of 10 highly skilled glassmakers who compete in challenges in 10 episodes. Catherine Ayers ’06 (glass) is one of six Corning Museum of Glass experts who assists the two finalists in the last challenge.

Andy Koupal '09 (glass) worked with College of Art and Design interim dean Robin Cass during a weeklong artist-in-residency program Koupal helps manage.

A sculpture by metals and jewelry design professor Carlos Caballero-Perez was recently installed in Fairport, with the piece representing a "Connection" to the village's history. 

John Dodd, an instructor in RIT’s College of Art and Design for more than 40 years, is the sixth recipient of the Edline M. Chun Award for Outstanding Teaching and Service. The award, named in honor of the late RIT adjunct professor Edline Chun, has been given annually since 2014 to a faculty member who exemplifies excellence and dedication in teaching to an affiliated school in the College of Art and Design.
