RIT continues strong showing in international design awards
Jatin Joshi
Jatin Joshi '26 MFA (visual communication design) received gold recognition in the 2026 Graphis New Talent Awards for a triptych poster design series that reimagines music through experimental typography and rhythmic patterns.
When the Graphis New Talent 2026 Annual book is out later this year, the publication highlighting emerging creatives globally will showcase a wide sample of RIT work.
For the fifth consecutive year, RIT College of Art and Design student submissions were recognized in the Graphis New Talent Awards, selected and curated by an international jury of design professionals. Inclusion reflects a strong level of conceptual rigor, craft, and professional readiness, said Anne Jordan, assistant professor in the School of Design.
The projects — created in classes by graphic design BFA and visual communication design MFA students — ranged from film title sequences and interactive experiences to poster campaigns, packaging design and typography. In total, RIT projects received four Gold awards, nine silver awards and 13 honorable mentions. The Graphis New Talent Annual book features all Gold and Silver winners from institutions around the globe.
Submissions were facilitated by the following faculty in courses they teach: Jordan, Assistant Professor William Colgrove, Assistant Professor Rachel Herring and Visiting Lecturer Natalie Mertz.
The RIT honorees, and the categories the were recognized in, were:
