Microelectronic engineering at RIT is a special blend of the theoretical and experiential. The program has been carefully crafted to prepare students for immediate entry into the integrated circuit or semiconductor fabrication industry, or to pursue advanced graduate study. Weaving 8 academic semesters with four paid, on-site cooperative education (co-op) work placements (totaling ~ 50 weeks) together with extensive laboratory course work in a state-of-the art clean-room facility over a five year period of time, the BS program at RIT provides prospective engineers a rich learning environment and immediate opportunities for professional employment. More than 1,300 companies come to RIT to recruit graduates for full time and co-op positions.
