The NTID Diversity Group (NDG) is a faculty and staff volunteer group committed to promoting the best possible learning, living and working experience for AALANA members of the RIT/NTID community. NDG's focus is community involvement, professional development and being a resource for the RIT/NTID community.

MISSION STATEMENT

GOALS OF NDG

  • To engage AALANA faculty, staff and students in partnerships and collaboration.
  • To function as a resource for the RIT/NTID community.
  • To enhance the work climate experience for AALANA faculty, staff, and students.
  • To provide opportunities for professional development for AALANA faculty and staff.

AREAS OF FOCUS

RIT Community Involvement

  • Collaboration/Building partnerships/Building relationships with different RIT/NTID departments and the RIT/NTID community.
  • Support the RIT Diversity framework (http://www.rit.edu/diversity).
  • Share resources.

NTID Community Involvement

  • Interview candidates for administrative roles.
  • Create opportunities for AALANA voices to be heard. NDG will share community concerns with the President's office.
  • NDG is to be the “go-to” group for AALANA input and insight.

Professional Development

  • Mentor young faculty and staff.
  • Increase AALANA representation in the Emerging Leaders' group.
  • Promote and encourage networking.

NDG as a Resource

  • Provide the AALANA perspective on SD2020 committees, projects, and initiatives.
  • Mentoring students.
