Career Guidance

Preparing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adults for Success in the Workplace

At the NTID Center for Workforce Development, we help deaf and hard-of-hearing adults prepare for jobs and succeed in the workplace. Our programs focus on practical skills like writing a resume, preparing for interviews, understanding how workplaces function, and communicating with coworkers. We also help participants build important life skills like teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving. Everything is offered in a way that is fully accessible and supportive, so participants feel confident as they take the next step in their careers.

We also work with employers to make sure they’re ready to support deaf and hard-of-hearing employees. Our training for hiring managers and HR staff includes strategies for clear communication, how to provide accommodations, and ways to create a more welcoming and inclusive work environment. By educating both job seekers and employers, we’re helping to break down barriers and open up more opportunities for everyone.
