Dr. Ferat Sahin is a professor in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at RIT. The bulk of the material he teaches focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Controls. Along with his teaching, Dr. Sahin also directs RIT’s Multi Agent Bio-Robotics Laboratory. His current research interests pertain to Human Robot Collaboration, Collaborative Robotics, Bio-Robotics, System of Systems Engineering, Novelty detection for Hardware and Software Systems through Machine Learning, Modular Micro-Robot Design and Control, MEMS-based Microbiotics, Material Modeling for MEMS Devices, and Biologically Inspired AI Approaches. Professor Sahin is very active in IEEE, his professional association. He is currently VP Finance for IEEE SMC Society. He also organizes conferences in the fields of Robotics and System of Systems Engineering.
