Dr. Kathleen Lamkin-Kennard is an Associate Professor in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering. Her research focuses primarily on Bioinspired Systems Engineering with a particular focus on simulating integrated human physiological systems using Biorobotic devices or computational modeling. Dr. Lamkin-Kennard has supervised many Senior Design and M.S. and Ph.D. thesis projects and has taught courses within the Mechanical Engineering Department such as Applied Biomaterials, Biomechatronics, and System Dynamics. Ongoing research projects include design and development of soft robotic actuators and sensors, design of biomimetic robots, and mathematical modeling of microcirculatory phenomena.
