Location: Rochester, NY/Remote (8-10 hours per week)
Gary Meyer, RIT/NTID Alumni is the founder of DHH Insurance and the first and only Deaf Owned Insurance Property & Casualty Broker. DHH Insurance Agency is based in Rochester and has provided Business and Personal Insurance since 1999 to the Deaf and Interpreting community.
In 2005, DHH became a division of CH Insurance Brokerage Services in Syracuse, NY. CH Insurance provides Property & Casualty Insurance as well as Employee Benefits products to clients throughout the United States. As an independently owned agency, CH Insurance provides value and diverse risk management services through offices in Syracuse, Rochester and Rome. DHH/CH Insurance employs twenty-seven (27) dedicated associates who offer expertise and knowledge of the insurance industry and provide service and dedication to each client. Goal of Internship: To improve upon and develop the DHH Brand and marketing efforts on a national basis.
Following duties will be overseen by the Digital Operations Manager:
-Work with our current Social Media Platforms to develop stronger brand
-Increase our followers on LinkedIn and Facebook
- Develop new ideas and ways to reach our target audiences
- Campaign and Visual post development, to include graphics, imagery and video media
- Email blast and tracking
- Assist Digital Operations Manager with Website review
- Create ways for us to deliver important insurance related content to the Deaf community and Interpreters
- Create a two-way dynamic between the Digital Ops Manger and Intern to ensure the goals and tasks are in line with their educational needs
- Intern will be in a partnership so they will feel ownership and pride in their work knowing it will be seen on a National level.
Qualified students will have capabilities and understandings of:
• Visual, and mediated communication
• Conducting quantitative and qualitative research, and statistical analyses.
• Writing news releases for email, advertising copy, newsletters, feature articles, and managing various digital and social media platforms.
• Designing layouts for newsletters, brochures, and other print materials through knowledge of the Adobe Suite
• Creating campaigns for public relations and advertising
Other qualifications include:
Excellent written communication skills
Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.
Knowledge and experience with web search engine optimization analysis and implementation (SEO).
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team with ability to produce in a remote/virtual environment.
