Position Title: Coordinator, Youth and Family Connections

Department/Location: Chicago Hearing Society
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Position Type: Full-Time

SUMMARY: Coordinate and guides Family and Youth Services for Chicago Hearing Society.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
⮚ Provide oversight, support, information, advocacy, referrals, and direct services for children, families and professionals in the home, school, and community.
⮚ Coordinate and implement all youth and family programs including literacy events, mentoring, educational and social events, etc.
⮚ Maintain stakeholder committee(s) and remain up to date on standards of care for populations served.
⮚ Provide contract, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, discipline, and termination of consultants.
⮚ Know and keep consultants informed of all agency policies, procedures, and changes as they occur.
⮚ Represent CHS at events, workshops, and training.
⮚ Maintain all child and family files in database.
⮚ Complete all applications for funding and reporting, as required by agency and funders.
⮚ Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

✓ Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of working on a computer. Travel between
various work locations. The employee must occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
✓ Work Environment: Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment with standard lighting and moderate noise level.

MA degree in recreation, education, social work, or related field.
⮚ Fluency in American Sign Language, knowledge of Deaf Culture required.
⮚ Minimum of 2 years' work experience in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities
⮚ Management skills: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
⮚ Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and a functional level
⮚ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
⮚ Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to an operational vehicle to
transport self to various locations throughout Chicago metro area and collar counties.
