Adapt language and materials to meet the needs of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Tutor academic classes and lessons. Provide information to hearing staff and students to assist in better understanding the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Ability to frequently travel among district facility locations. Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Knowledge of and ability to utilize various signing systems including, but not limited to American Sign Language (ASL), Manually Coded English, Conceptually Accurate Signed English (CASE), Cued Speech and Finger spelling. Must demonstrate knowledge of oral interpreting skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
