New grant from NIDCD
In collaboration with Ed Lalor from the URMC Department of Neuroscience, the deaf 𝑥 lab has a new $600,000 grant to study the processing of audiovisual speech by cochlear implant users. We hope to understand the ways in which the timing of implantation alters how auditory and visual information are combined to enhance speech comprehension in noisy environments. The project will run through December 2029.
