Bio

Beth Karbowski (she/her) is a deaf professional passionate about the accessibility and inclusion of people who are deaf and hard-of-hearing in the media and workforce.

Beth leads the coordination of the NTID's "Working Together: Deaf and Hearing People" workshop training to encourage workforce inclusion and preparation. With NTID Co-op and Career Center (NCCC), Beth travels to present the importance of inclusion and accessibility in the workplace and provides insight into the deaf world with the intention of hearing and deaf professionals working together successfully. She also serves on the NCCC's marketing committee to develop digital, print, and web marketing strategies. While she works to advance 90+ deaf and hard-of-hearing students' employment readiness in the creative industry (College of Art and Design and NTID's Visual Communications Studies), Beth collaborates with employers looking to grow their inclusive workplace.

Beth also has worked as a visual design and social media coordinator for a disability-led organization that provides services to 100k+ followers in the Disability Community. There, she created internship experiences with RIT/NTID design students. While teaching graphic design as an adjunct instructor for the NTID’s Visual Communications Studies program, she wrote social media content for a deaf-led organization assisting companies in delivering deaf-friendly services. Beth dabbled in freelance work as a graphic, web, and logo designer and social media strategist consulting for various organizations establishing their branding and making their marketing accessible to the Disability Community. Beth was featured as a subject matter expert in social media marketing for the Out of the Margins, a platform that teaches the fundamentals of nonprofit leadership to help emerging leaders with disabilities.

Beth is currently enrolled in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s online fast-track Ph.D. program in Global Leadership. Her dissertation focuses on the resources and data on the employment rate of deaf communities and the inclusive practices in industrialized countries.
