Paving the Way for Change: NTID Strategic Journey

The NTID Strategic Journey is a framework that will guide the college’s direction for the next decade. 

The NTID Strategic Journey aligns with RIT’s Strategic Framework, focusing on four pillars:

  • Transformative Student Experiences and Success
  • World Changing Research and Scholarship
  • Community Wellbeing and Belonging
  • Global Reach and Mindset


Strategic Pillars Committees

Four committees will lead development of the NTID Strategic Journey. These committees will be structured around the four pillars and ensure that the NTID Strategic Journey aligns with and supports the RIT Strategic Framework. Each of the four Strategic Pillars Committees will have a co-lead. 

The committees will assist in developing tools for soliciting input from key stakeholders, including online surveys, community forums, focus groups, and guest speakers to gather more data. They also will:

  • Attend and participate in RIT Strategic Framework and MSCHE feedback sessions
  • Attend and participate in all NTID Strategic Journey steering committee meetings and activities
  • Solicit input on preliminary recommendations
  • Present recommendations to the NTID Administrative Council and appropriate entities at RIT, before final approval by NTID President Caroline Solomon
