In 1939, former city historian Blake McKelvey published the first issue of Rochester History with the goal of expanding the knowledge of local history. Today, the journal publishes deeply researched and engaging articles that explore a wide variety of diverse and inclusive historical topics and perspectives pertaining to Rochester, Monroe County, and Western New York.

To celebrate 85 years of Rochester History, please join the journal's editorial team for a celebration and open house at RIT Press. Refreshments will be served.
