Abstract:
College of Science is presenting a virtual panel discussion “Beyond the Bench: Alternate Career Paths in the Sciences”. In this virtual panel discussion “Beyond the Bench: Alternate Career Paths in the Sciences” students will hear from alumni whose career paths led them from working in a lab or clinical environment to corporate roles in science-centered businesses. Panelists will share their career stories and provide advice and guidance to students as they begin their own career journeys.

Panelists:

Timothy Tracy, J.D. (Biotechnology '88)
Assistant General Counsel - Patents
Johnson & Johnson

Timothy Tracy, J.D. has worked as patent attorney at Johnson & Johnson for over 20 years. He started running a DNA sequencing and synthesis lab at Johnson & Johnson before going to law school at Franklin Pierce Law School (now UNH School of Law). During his time as a Johnson & Johnson patent attorney, Tim has supported a diverse portfolio of products such as Tylenol, Motrin, Carefree, etc. His work also entails business transactions such as acquisitions, licensing, and litigation activities.

Sesquile Ramon, Ph.D (Biotechnology '07)
Director of Business Strategy, Global Immuno-Oncology Business Unit
AstraZeneca

Dr. Ramon leads the development of pan-tumor business strategies to accelerate the IO portfolio. He works cross-functionally to identify gaps and opportunities to advance business goals and long-term vision across assets and tumor areas.

Amanda Rich (Biology '97)
Product Stability and Lifecycle Management Scientist

As a sustainability professional with over 15 years of experience in program improvement, Amanda Rich has successfully developed customized strategies and management systems for environmental, social, and for-profit organizations. Amanda offers employers risk analysis, carbon footprinting, ESG audits, and improvement methods to establish and control sustainable management systems.

Lauren Tamburro (Biochemistry '04)

LET's GSD CONSULTING LLC

Lauren Tamburro is currently in a career transition but has recently been an executive leader for a cannabis ingredient company and built research and development, product development, technical services, and quality teams while working cross-functionally and collaboratively with all parts of the business to ensure significant growth.

Trevor Brown, Ph.D (Biochemistry '98)
Senior Scientist, Joint Project Management Office for CBRN Medical

Dr. Trevor Brown is a Senior Scientist within the Joint Programs Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense's (JPEO-CBRND) Joint Project Managers Office for CBRN Medical and directly supports the Joint Product Lead for Diagnostics.
