Black Mental Health Matters

Join us as we close out this important week of Black Mental Health Matters events. The closing reception will include refreshments and an interactive student reflection on the impact of the week, including a talk from NTID’s Associate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Alesia Allen, and a meaningful Black Mental Health Matters Edition of Real Talk. Real Talk is a CaPS + MCAS initiative aimed at helping to create safety and community amongst ALANA students. Real talk is both facilitated by students and CaPS therapists with a focus on the impact of current trends, social media hot topics, and student life. Join us as we discuss the importance of all things mental health.

Black Mental Health Matters is an event for Black/Black identifying students focused on the importance of mental health in ALANA communities, the impact of racism on individual mental health, as well as an opportunity to provide information and resources available at RIT’s Counseling and Psychological Services. MCAS and HEOP have partnered with Counseling and Psychological Services and Health Promotion to bring a series of meaningful opportunities to honor, support, and explore the mental health of our Black/Black identifying students at RIT. We hope you will join us throughout the week!
