Brown Bag Faculty Lecture: Jack Beck
Jack Beck, associate professor and interim co-director of the School of Film and Animation, is presenting as part of the College of Art and Design's weekly Brown Bag Faculty Lecture Series. His talk is scheduled for noon to 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in William Harris Conference Room (Gannett Hall, 2155). The lecture is titled “Filming Abroad: Dubrovnik and Churchill.”
Beck was the first recipient of the Miles Research Award for Excellence in Teaching at RIT, a Chesterfield Screenwriting semifinalist and a Student Academy Award finalist. He has taught abroad in Paris and Dubrovnik, and domestically in Utah and New Orleans with the College of Art and Design Honors Program. Beck’s films and videos have won dozens of awards and collected 350-plus screenings in festivals, galleries, theatres, campuses and tours. He is a presenter at the annual UFVA and CILECT conferences.
