About Bri Kinard
Kinard fell in love with ceramics after one pottery class, so much so that she switched majors from psychology to ceramics, and now holds a bachelor of fine arts in ceramics from the University of South Carolina and a master of fine art in ceramics from RIT's School for American Crafts. Kinard's pieces have been exhibited extensively throughout the U.S, with major installations like "Fear Mongers Extracted," showcased in Columbia Museum of Art's fall 2015 exhibition. Kinard's art isn't restricted to clay. She is known to also use metals, bones, and other unique materials to create her massive abstract pieces. Much of her work deals with abstract emotions that are visualized within her sculptures and frozen in time, creating a sense of catharsis as the pent-up emotions are extracted.
