In the middle of a purple background in white text reads "Mental Health First Aid Training". The bottom left corner reads "Made possible through a grant from the Patrick P. Lee Foundation." The bottom right corner has the Student Affairs Wellness lock-up.

Interpreters have been requested. This training is open only to campus staff, faculty, and students.

You must be able to attend both training sessions (Wednesday, Oct. 8 & Friday, October 10 - 10:00 a.m.-3 p.m.) in order to participate in this training.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training course for anyone who wants to make their community healthier, happier, and safe.

Through this training, you will learn:

  • How to describe and talk about mental health, openly and non-judgmentally.
  • Approach, reassure, and support a fellow RIT community member when they are struggling with their mental health.
  • Exploration of what self-care looks like for you and practical applications of self-care.

If you have any questions or need clarification on anything, please do not hesitate to email Beau Gibbs at bmghcw@rit.edu.

You will need to complete 15 minutes of pre-work BEFORE attending the training.

Thank you for your commitment to making RIT a more mentally well campus.
