Please note this event has been cancelled.

The RIT Fine Art Photography class of 2020 is pleased to present its senior BFA exhibition, “Not Far From Here.” For the first time, the senior class will exhibit its work in two different galleries at the same time.

Gallery talks with the artists are scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, in William Harris Gallery and Thursday, March 19, at RIT City Art Space (280 East Main St., Rochester, N.Y.). Both start at 5 p.m. The work will be on display until March 21 in William Harris Gallery and March 22 at RIT City Art Space.

Divided into two galleries, “Not Far From Here” features the culminating work of 13 artists in their senior year: Christopher Beitz, Parker Bryant-Carty, Savannah Cid, Svea Elisha, Ariana Hawk, Justine Higgins, James Emery Kane, Shayna Kiblin, Evan Patrick Maloney, Claudia Paulson, Sofia Tello, Tia Weiss and Noah Winslow. The show is an accumulation of photographic, filmic and installation-based work born out of the unique practices and visions each artist has developed over the last four years.

Some emergent themes throughout the artists’ work include the photographic and emotional journey, questioning the normality of the everyday experience and the significance of locating oneself in the world. The wide variety of mediums, techniques and ideas in both galleries come together to show how far the artists in this senior class have come, and that success, in whatever form, is not far from here.
