Center for Worldbuilding and Storytelling Speaker Series: Zine-Making Workshop
Join us for an exciting Zine-Making Workshop, hosted by zine expert Frances Andreu and sponsored by the Center for Worldbuilding and Storytelling! This hands-on event is perfect for creatives who want to craft their own zines, small self-published booklets for telling your stories and showcasing your artwork. This workshop will guide you through the process of designing and creating your very own zine.
Frances will cover the basics of layout, design, and content creation for zines, with a focus on worldbuilding. Participants will have access to a variety of materials, from paper and ink to collage supplies, allowing you to bring your unique worldubilding visions to life. No prior experience is needed—just bring your ideas and enthusiasm!
The zines you create will be the perfect showcase for the Worldbuilders World’s Fair, an upcoming exhibit in the University Gallery that celebrates creatives, fictional worlds and the art of storytelling at RIT. Your zine could focus on a fictional universe, a deep dive into your own worldbuilding process, game maps, or any narrative that inspires you. This is your chance to connect with a community of fellow creators and share your imagination with the world.
Whether you’re crafting a one-off zine or creating the foundation for a larger project, this workshop will help you develop new skills and prepare for the Worldbuilders World’s Fair.
