TITLE:                Aligning Agents and Users with Explainable AI

IN-PERSON        Golisano Hall (70), Room CYB-1710-1730

ABSTRACT: As AI systems have increased in capability, the need to ensure that AI systems and their users are aligned with respect to values and preferences. Regardless of whether current technologies are on a path to AGI, alignment is fundamental to human-AI interaction. In this talk, we look at the role of Explainable AI (XAI) in aligning agents and users. XAI can help users form better mental models of how agents make behavior choices. XAI can also be used empower users to shape the behavior of agents.
