Beyond the Horizon of Time: Urban Pressure on Heritage Landscapes
Land-use change, resulting from urban expansion, has led to the unprecedented importance of rethinking our interactions with the environment in general. The consequences of anthropogenic activity on natural land and sustainable land use types are a significant concern to the detriment of cities and our economy in the long run.
This lecture offers insights into the importance of preserving archaeological landscapes as an endogenous value for territory, city, and landscape. By showcasing methods found in urban land change concepts and including the definition of regional intelligence, a prospective approach is offered to understand the harmful effects of urban sprawl on our heritage landscapes and regional development.
