Joe Sacco is the author of critically acclaimed, award-winning works of comics journalism, including Footnotes in Gaza, Paying the Land, Palestine, and Safe Area Goražde. His most recent works are War on Gaza, winner of a 2025 Eisner Award, and The Once and Future Riot, named a Best Book of 2025 by the Guardian and Publisher’s Weekly. Sacco will discuss his work, journalism, art, history, and politics with Daniel Worden, Professor of Art History & Comics Studies Fellow at the Cary Graphic Arts Collection.
