Craft/ing Your Career

Join us for a hands-on maker event and conversation about incorporating a hobby into a career. Please submit interpreting requests to myaccess.rit.edu.

The Journalism program (School of Communication, COLA) is bringing in digital-media strategist Tanya Singer, of New York City, who is a passionate knitter and who incorporates knitting into her media career, perhaps unexpectedly - but assuredly successfully!

The event will run during the 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Fireside Lounge, SAU. Tanya Singer is currently director of media and partnerships at Tablet Magazine, focusing on podcasts; and she oversees “Unorthodox,” the leading Jewish podcast globally. She has experience managing media teams at Time, Inc., and Bloomberg News.

“Craft/ing your career” is co-sponsored by School of Communication, Saunders College of Business, ADVANCE, Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and the Kern Professorship.

Tanya Singer will be joining us via Zoom, and the event will feature ample craft supplies and refreshments. All students, staff and faculty are invited to participate - and to get crafty!
