Deaf Hub Exploring Perspectives: Andrew Donald, DDS
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to become a deaf dentist?
Andrew Donald, DDS is featured on the Deaf Hub Exploring Perspectives series to give a presentation, “Embracing Deaf Identities, Leading in Dentistry, Owning a Practice”, which will take place at the webinar.
Dr. Donald will be sharing his journey, which began at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School in Washington, D.C. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Italian Language and Culture from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2013, he completed a post-baccalaureate research experience at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), focusing on temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, graduating in 2018. After practicing at his mentor’s private practice—later acquired by a dental support organization (DSO)—he expanded his clinical experience. Eventually, he purchased the same practice and rebranded it as “AD Dentistry.
