Deaf Hub Exploring Perspectives: Anna Kasper, BS, PhD Student
Have you heard of neuroimmunology before? Are you curious how cancer biology can interact with neuroimmunology?
Anna Kasper, BS ‘23, PhD Student, is back to give a presentation, “Chasing Questions, Finding Belonging” at the Deaf Hub Exploring Perspectives. It will be held on webinar on Monday, October 20 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).
Anna Kasper is a Neuroscience Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania with a deep interest in the intersection of neuroimmunology and cancer biology. In Dr. Richard Phillips' lab, Anna is investigating immune cell infiltration in glioblastomas, one of the deadliest types of cancers. She also looks at how these immune cells shape the tumor microenvironment to influence disease progression.
Before beginning her graduate studies, Anna took an influential gap year in which she completed a co-op at Merck and traveled to multiple countries. Anna credits her education and opportunities she received at RIT, such as the NIH Undergraduate Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (U-RISE) to become an engaged scholar.
In her free time, Anna is training for the Philadelphia Marathon and experimenting with AI-generation.
