Demystifying Disability: In Conversation with Emily Ladau

RIT is thrilled to welcome internationally renowned disability rights writer, speaker, and activist Emily Ladau to campus for a conversation on disability rights, accessibility, and allyship. Emily Ladau’s writing has been published in a range of press outlets, including the New York Times, Self, and Vice. She brings her passionate advocacy to her presentations, where she coaches audiences on how to become better-informed allies and advocates. Her latest book, Demystifying Disability, is an approachable guide to being a better ally to disabled people, complete with actionable steps to help make the world a more inclusive and accessible place.

Emily will be presenting on Saturday, August 20th from 12:15-1:15PM in Ingle Auditorium. All are welcome at this exciting event, where Emily Ladau will be in conversation with RIT Disability Services Director, Catherine Lewis. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to ask Emily questions. ASL interpreting and live captioning have been requested.
