Economic and National Security Awareness for the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub
Join us on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the RIT Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship or online for a timely session on the growing connections between economic security, national security, and innovation within the NY SMART I‑Corridor Tech Hub.
This event features insights from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Buffalo Field Office. Together, they will offer a practical and relevant discussion on counterintelligence awareness, including how economic espionage and theft of trade secrets occur and what individuals and organizations can do to protect themselves. Attendees will also learn about the most common ways sensitive corporate or academic information leaves a facility, including trusted insiders, personnel traveling overseas, foreign visitors, and cyber-attacks.
This session is available for members of the NY Smart I-Corridor Community of Practice, including companies, faculty, staff, and students at partner universities. It will be available in both in‑person and virtual formats, and food and refreshments available in the Simone Center.
