College of Engineering Technology Distinguished Alumnus Ben Meunier, Electrical-Mechanical Engineering Technology ‘03, discusses how Applied Critical Thinking is a key driver of the innovation process at Oakley. Oakley, a subsidiary of Luxottica, develops and manufactures sports performance equipment and lifestyle pieces, holding more than 600 patents. Oakley’s product innovation and product development processes leverage user and athlete input as part of the decision and design process, resulting in products that reflect the details of the customer. In the more than a decade at Oakley, rising to the VP of R&D and Advanced Product Development at Oakley, Mr. Meunier has built a robust product innovation roadmap through the guiding principles of the mantra, ‘Fail Fast, Fail Often/ Fail Fast, Learn Faster’.
