RIT's glass program is hosting Penelope Rakov for an in-person artist talk and hot shop demo as part of its 2022 Visiting Artist Lecture Series on Thursday, March 31.

The artist talk is set for 11:15 a.m. in the Glass Classroom (Booth Hall, 3634) while the demo is at 2:15 p.m. in the Hot Shop (Booth Hall, 3730). All are welcome to attend both events.

A diversified artist and glass jewelry designer, Rakov’s approach to cane and murrine patterning techniques is one of the most innovative applications of these traditional processes within contemporary glass. During her visit, she will discuss the development of a practice that lives at the intersection of art and design and demonstrate the labor-intensive expertise of her work in the RIT Hot Shop.
