Hands in Motion: Celebrating Robert F. Panara (1920-2014) Exhibit Opening
Hands in Motion celebrates the enduring legacy of Robert Panara, poet, teacher, and advocate, through selections from his personal book collection, annotated texts, photographs, videotapes of his poetry and teaching, and other archival treasures. Through his life’s work, Panara helped the world see and hear Deaf culture in vibrant new ways.
Join us for the exhibit opening on Thursday, September 11, from 2–4 p.m. on the 3rd Floor of Wallace Library. Special guest John Panara, Robert’s son, will share reflections on his father’s life and impact. We’ll also hear from those involved in this year-long project, honoring the dedication and creativity of the students who brought this exhibition to life.
Come celebrate the vision, voice, and influence of one of RIT’s most beloved figures.
