Heel Violence
Alpha Sigma Alpha hosts Heel Violence every year to raise money and awareness for the Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims (ASADV). It gives the Rochester community a chance to "walk a mile in their shoes," literally. The attendees will walk a mile in high heels on the RIT campus, and have a chance to win raffle prizes and eat free pizza. It is a great opportunity to raise awareness for domestic violence. Many don't realize the large number of people in the deaf community who suffer from domestic abuse. Heel Violence is a great way to show support to those who do, and give them access to help.
