Learn 3 simple components to add clarity and transparency to your assignments.

  1. The Purpose: Why are you asking students to do this work?
  2. The Task: What are you asking students to do?
  3. The Criteria: How will students’ work be evaluated to keep the ‘student’ piece consistent?

This session will guide participants through the basic principles of transparent assignment design, developed as a part of a national initiative (Transparency in Learning and Teaching project, TILT Higher Ed) to promote equity and foster student success. Transparently designed assignments explicitly address not only the main task but also the how and the why of assignments.

Intended audience:
All College of Science faculty and staff are invited!
