LaserHarp Introduction with James Early
Event Image
The LaserHarp is a MIDI controller platform that uses sensor components to translate movement into MIDI note and controller data. The system accepts program change messages allowing its transmitted data to be modified in real time. Finally, it is designed using inexpensive sensor and computer components making for a highly cost effective system.
James P. Early, Ph.D. is Professor of Computer Science at SUNY Oswego and the founding Director of the Center for Performing Arts Technologies (CPAT) -- a community of artists, musicians, dancers, and engineers focused on developing systems that increase opportunities for artistic expression and audience engagement.
