Lecture by Food Photographer Nathan Myhrvold
RIT's School of Photographic Arts and Sciences is presenting an appetizing talk by Nathan Myhrvold, a food photographer, chef, scientist and inventor. The former chief strategist and chief technology officer of Microsoft Corporation, Myhrvold is the founder of Modernist Cuisine and Modernist Cuisine Gallery and lead author of the Modernist Cuisine cookbook series.As part of the school's Charles Arnold Lecture Series, Myhrvold will discuss the techniques he uses to capture and edit his unique photographs at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in MAGIC Spell Studios' Wegmans Theater.Myhrvold combines art and technology to showcase food from new and surprising perspectives. His critically acclaimed work has been featured in top press and science museums around the country. His photographs can be seen at Modernist Cuisine Gallery, the first gallery in the world to focus solely on food photography by a single artist.
