Applied Biomedical Genomics and Bioinformatics at the Genomics Research CenterElizabeth Pritchett, Ph.D. & Jackie Myers, MSTechnical Scientist and BioinformaticianGenomics Research CenterUniversity of RochesterAbstract:Elizabeth Pritchett (technical scientist) and Jackie Myers (bioinformatician) will give an overview of the ongoing applied and translational next generation sequencing (NGS) genomics capabilities at the University of Rochester. In addition, they will discuss a new partnership between the institutions with the goal of integrating RIT biotechnology and bioinformatics students with ongoing biomedical genomics. This partnership has the potential to broaden student’s skillsets, making them strong candidates in the workforce, and enhance ongoing research at the University of Rochester.Intended Audience:Some background of the topic.
