Dr. Arindam Ghosh graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2023. His dissertation, "The cumulative effect of criminogenic facilities on street segments: A replication of Groff & Lockwood's (2014) study" was supervised by Dr. Lucia Summers. Dr. Ghosh is an alum of the College of Liberal Arts, and the Saunders College of Business Administration at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he obtained his Masters in Public Policy, and Masters in Business Administration, respectively. His undergraduate degree is in Electronics Engineering from Shivaji University, India. He currently works as a GIS analyst with Bexar County, TX. Dr. Ghosh's research interests lie in studying the spatial patterns of crime and its causes. He is also interested in GIS as a field and as an exploratory tool in general, as evidenced by his master's thesis which utilized GIS in modeling environmental impacts of freight transportation, his prior crime mapping work at CPSI, and most recently his doctoral dissertation. Dr. Ghosh also spent several years working as a senior data analyst dealing with criminal justice data at one of the largest counties in Texas. There he gained an appreciation for, and experience with, the workings of data analytics at the local government level.
