Abstract
:

Rubella, a viral infection preventable through vaccination, remains a public health concern despite the absence of recent outbreaks in the United States. The live attenuated rubella virus vaccine is typically administered as part of the combination measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. While the World Health Organization and its member states have effectively utilized the Measles Immunity Profile to guide supplementary immunization activities for measles, a comparable tool for rubella has been lacking. In response to this gap, a Rubella Immunity Profile tool has been developed for use in countries worldwide to assess the potential risk of rubella outbreaks and congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) cases. This presentation will focus on the application of this tool in the United States, analyzing immunity levels and susceptibility patterns to provide insights into the current risk landscape. By examining the U.S. context, we aim to inform public health strategies and enhance preventive measures against rubella on both a national and global scale.
