Interpreters have been requested. This training is not available to individuals outside of the RIT community.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training course for anyone who wants to make their community healthier, happier, and safe.
Through this training, you will learn:
- How to describe and talk about mental health, openly and non-judgmentally.
- Approach, reassure, and support a fellow RIT community member when they are struggling with their mental health.
- Exploration of what self-care looks like for you and practical applications of self-care.
If you have any questions, or you need clarification on anything, please do not hesitate to email Beau Gibbs at bmghcw@rit.edu.
You will need to complete 2.5 hours of pre-work BEFORE attending the training. This pre-work will be made available to you approximately 1 week before the start of the training.
Thank you for your commitment to making RIT a more mentally well campus.
