Timeless product designs created by students for RIT’s Metaproject 10 will be revealed during an event on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in University Gallery. This semester, 18 Industrial Design students partnered with the Vignelli Center for Design Studies — celebrating its 10-year anniversary throughout 2019-20 — to produce products following the theme of “Design for Time.” The Metaproject initiative annually pairs student designers with a client partner. Beginning at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3, students will give presentations detailing their products and design process. After a lunch break, awards are scheduled to be announced at 1:30 p.m. Both events are open to the public. The student output from the course will also be exhibited at a special event during New York City Design Week in May at Saint Peter’s Church, designed by Massimo and Lella Vignelli.Photo by Elizabeth Lamark: R.
