Metaproject 13 Exhibition
RIT industrial design's Metaproject 13, will be shown at Design Week in NYC in May of 2023.
Please join us for a cocktail reception and celebration of the unveiling of 13 chair prototypes, designed by RIT students and produced by project partner Lazzoni. The event will be co-hosted by Efe Kababult and Josh Owen.
For the annual Metaproject course — which pairs students with a client partner — students collaborated with Lazzoni to design a collection of educational objects for indoors that value quality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and accessibility. Lazzoni, founded by Laz Hasan the carpenter in 1897, is a high-end modern furniture company whose design was inspired by Massimo and Lella Vignelli in the 1990s. It was the first company to produce its goods with EPA certification in Turkey. With four generations of effort, Lazzoni has now thrived in the United States, Turkey, Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
