Momentum II: Leadership Through the Lens of Sustainability

The momentum series is a multi-level experiential leadership development program designed to introduce you to challenges impacting communities around the world and to equip you with the skills, competencies, and confidence you need to actively engage in efforts to address those challenges.

Momentum II is the second level of momentum out of the three-part series and is an opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (knowledge acquisition), how they are connected (systems thinking), interact with leaders and organizations actively engaged in working at the intersections of the goals (networking), and reflect on your leadership abilities and how your individual strengths can support or enhance the work being done (leadership development). Furthermore, this series is a partnership with RIT Sustainability and Rochester Ecology Partners. We will be focusing on leadership through the lens of sustainability and learning about the systems that affect our environment and how we can be better stewards of it.

About Rochester Ecology Partners
The Rochester Ecology Partners is an organization that intends to improve community connectedness through the power of nature. Our organization hopes to improve individual, community, and environmental health and contribute to an educational system that connects people in our city, in particular youth and families to nature, the places they live, and each other.

By building these relationships we will encourage the adoption of an ecological mindset in our community where there is a better understanding of the relationship between our social and environmental systems. Our community’s most pressing challenges can be solved with an approach that considers how everything is connected. Our mission consists of helping all people find nature where they live, work, and play.
